Micromax as a Windows Phone partner, the domestic handset manufacturer has announced two budget Windows Phone 8.1 handsets - theCanvas Win W092 and Canvas Win W121, priced at Rs. 6,500 and Rs. 9,500 respectively.

Both handsets will be available on retail shelves in India from early July, according to the official Windows blog.

The Canvas Win W092 and Canvas Win W121 feature dual-SIM support, making them some of the few such Windows Phone devices - the Lumia 630 Dual SIM (announced in April and launched in India in May) was the first dual-SIM Windows Phone.

The Canvas Win W121 (seen above) is nearly identical with the Canvas Win W092, though it features a larger display and a high-resolution camera. The Canvas Win W121 bears a 5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) IPS display, and is powered by 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 200 (MSM8212) SoC that is coupled with 1GB of RAM.

The Canvas Win W121 bears an 8-megapixel rear autofocus camera with flash, and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. It also features 2000mAh battery that's rated to deliver up to 8 hours of talk time and 150 hours of standby time. It also has a leather finish on the rear panel. Connectivity options include 3G, GPRS/ EDGE Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS.

4. Backup your current ROM

So that if you experience some lag or any other situation you don’t like after flashing a custom ROM, you can restore the phone to its original state with this tool. 
5. Backup Your Phone’s IMEI
   Sometimes, when you install a custom ROM, your IMEI number will be lost and as a result you will not be able to receive proper network signal. To avoid such situations, do not forget to backup a folder called ‘efs’ that stores your IMEI number.
   To access the folder, you have to install a root file explorer app like Root Explorer, X-plore File Manager, etc. Once installed, open the app and find the folder. You will easily find it as it is located on the root directory of your device. When you located the folder, just copy the entire folder and paste it on your external SD card. It will be even better if you copy it to your computer too. After installing the custom ROM, just copy and paste the folder in the same location where it was.

Clicking on ‘Lock’ option will bring up a dialogue box that lets you remotely create a new password for the lock screen while the ‘Erase’ allow you to wipe all data from your device and return it to factory settings.

If you are sure that you can’t get your phone back and you have sensitive information on it, then the Erase option function will come in handy. After you click Erase, a pop up will prompt you to confirm the action and tell you that the procedure will erase all of the data from your device and reset it. If you confirm the erase, the device erases itself and reboots. Once your device has been wiped, you will no longer be able to access it from Android Device Manager. Also keep in mind that a remote factory reset may not wipe external SD memory cards.

To be able to use the Lock and Erase functions, you’ll need to enable Android Device Manager on your Android device. (If your device is already missing, then it is too late). HTC Sync Manager: As the name suggests, this program is used to install updates, among other things, on HTC devices. To get it, you can head over to the official HTC website and grab it. Once installed, you just have to connect your smartphone to your PC via USB and then fire up the program. It will search for software updates for you, but only official updates will be available to you.
